Our client is a leading manufacturer within the FMCG sector, specialising in the production of high-quality products for a wide customer base. With a strong focus on innovation, efficiency, and product consistency, they operate using modern manufacturing processes and maintain high industry standards across their operations.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer (Electrical) to lead site reliability and maintenance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will focus on driving equipment reliability, improving plant performance, reducing downtime, and embedding a proactive maintenance culture across the engineering function.
You will lead a small engineering team while working closely with production and operational teams to deliver continuous improvement initiatives, optimise maintenance strategies, and ensure high engineering and safety standards are maintained at all times.
Develop and implement site-wide reliability and maintenance strategies
Drive planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and condition-based maintenance activities
Improve asset performance, plant uptime, and operational efficiency
Analyse breakdowns and implement root cause corrective actions
Monitor KPIs including MTBF and MTTR to improve engineering performance
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across engineering operations
Manage, mentor, and support a team of engineers
Ensure effective use of CMMS systems for maintenance planning and reporting
Produce reports on downtime, maintenance trends, and engineering performance
Support maintenance budget control and identify cost-saving opportunities
Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and engineering procedures
Collaborate with production, quality, contractors, and suppliers to support operational performance
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in Engineering or equivalent
Strong electrically biased, multi-skilled engineering background
Previous experience within FMCG or a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Proven experience in reliability engineering or maintenance leadership
Strong knowledge of PPM strategies and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience using CMMS systems
Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and data analysis skills
Experience leading and developing engineering teams
Degree in Engineering or related discipline
18th Edition qualification
Knowledge of RCA, FMEA, and condition monitoring techniques
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience
