Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

Provide proactive and reactive engineering support within a high-volume, highly automated FMCG bakery. Maintain, improve, and develop plant and equipment reliability to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and product quality on a 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across production and site equipment

• Respond effectively to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain output

• Diagnose faults and implement robust, long-term engineering solutions

• Drive improvements in asset reliability and plant performance

• Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability-centred maintenance initiatives

• Record maintenance activity, labour, and parts usage via SAP PM

• Work collaboratively with production, hygiene, and safety teams

• Support team and individual performance targets

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Completed apprenticeship or structured engineering qualification (HNC / equivalent)

• Proven FMCG or high-volume manufacturing experience

• Multi-skilled background with strong mechanical and electrical capability

• Experience using CMMS systems (SAP PM preferred)

• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and analytical skills

• Effective communication and collaboration skills

• Willingness to coach and support the development of others

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working on automated bakery production, packaging, and material handling systems

• Knowledge of conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, ovens, mixers, and slicers

• Understanding of electrical systems, motors, drives, sensors, panels, and safety circuits
