Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Provide proactive and reactive engineering support within a high-volume, highly automated FMCG bakery. Maintain, improve, and develop plant and equipment reliability to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and product quality on a 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across production and site equipment
Respond effectively to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain output
Diagnose faults and implement robust, long-term engineering solutions
Drive improvements in asset reliability and plant performance
Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability-centred maintenance initiatives
Record maintenance activity, labour, and parts usage via SAP PM
Work collaboratively with production, hygiene, and safety teams
Support team and individual performance targets
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Completed apprenticeship or structured engineering qualification (HNC / equivalent)
Proven FMCG or high-volume manufacturing experience
Multi-skilled background with strong mechanical and electrical capability
Experience using CMMS systems (SAP PM preferred)
Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Willingness to coach and support the development of others
Desirable Skills:
Experience working on automated bakery production, packaging, and material handling systems
Knowledge of conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, ovens, mixers, and slicers
Understanding of electrical systems, motors, drives, sensors, panels, and safety circuits
