Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Reliability Engineer to join a manufacturing environment, taking ownership of plant performance, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with the engineering team, you will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving efficiency and supporting operational performance across production machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategies.
Improve plant reliability, efficiency, OEE and product quality.
Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and engineering costs.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and downtime incidents.
Monitor and present engineering KPIs.
Support production teams to maximise plant performance and output.
Manage contractors and support plant shutdowns and overhaul activities.
Maintain engineering documentation and ensure audit compliance.
Promote and maintain high Health & Safety standards across the site.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A completed engineering apprenticeship (Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled).
City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent engineering qualification.
Experience within a manufacturing, production, FMCG or industrial environment.
Knowledge of PPM systems, CMMS and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
Good IT skills and the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
Desirable Skills:
Experience leading engineering improvement projects.
Knowledge of reliability-centred maintenance techniques.
Experience presenting performance data and KPIs.
Contractor management and shutdown planning experience.
Continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
