Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to provide technical support to production teams, ensuring machinery and production lines operate efficiently. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, drive continuous improvement, and maintain high standards of safety, quality and engineering performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production and packaging equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
Support production by resolving technical issues and improving equipment reliability.
Take ownership of engineering actions arising from daily operational reviews.
Conduct equipment inspections and recommend maintenance improvements.
Support continuous improvement and Root Cause Analysis activities.
Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety, GMP and engineering standards.
Use CMMS to manage planned maintenance activities and records.
Work collaboratively with production teams and contractors to minimise downtime.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Previous maintenance engineering experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Recognised engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent).
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience with planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and solve technical problems.
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
Desirable Skills:
Experience within food, FMCG, pharmaceutical or automated manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of GMP and manufacturing processes.
Experience using CMMS software.
Familiarity with automated production and packaging equipment such as weighers, tray sealers, flow wrappers, cartoners and similar machinery.
Microsoft Office proficiency.
Experience contributing to Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
