Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced, high-performing food manufacturing environment on a days-only shift pattern. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in maintaining site reliability, supporting production performance, and contributing to ongoing improvements across a modern manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across production machinery and site equipment.
Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, helping to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults across a range of automated equipment.
Support continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, efficiency, safety, and food quality.
Train and support operators on the safe and effective use of machinery.
Maintain accurate maintenance, compliance, and engineering documentation.
Work closely with production and hygiene teams to ensure food safety and operational standards are upheld.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
18th Edition qualification.
Strong experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Good electrical fault-finding skills, including experience with PLC systems.
Experience working with three-phase systems, drives, motors, automation, and control equipment.
A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills:
Experience working with food manufacturing machinery.
Knowledge of ovens, heat sealers, check weighers, pumps, motors, AC/DC drives, and LV systems.
PAT testing and electrical compliance knowledge.
Previous experience supporting operator training or machine-user best practice.
Strong documentation and compliance awareness within a regulated manufacturing environment.
