Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will provide electrical and mechanical support within a high-volume, automated production environment operating 24/7. The role focuses on rapid breakdown response, planned preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement to ensure plant and equipment run safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will report to the Engineering Manager and work both independently and as part of a small engineering team on a rotating 12-hour shift pattern (days and nights, including weekends).
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across plant and production equipment
Fault find on 3-phase systems, motors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment (I/O level), inverters, sensors, relays and control panels
Strip, rebuild and repair gearboxes, pumps and mechanical assemblies
Carry out pneumatic and hydraulic fault finding and component replacement
Perform planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules
Respond to reactive breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime
Interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings
Accurately record maintenance activities using CMMS
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure strict compliance with site safety procedures and isolation standards (LOTO)
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
