Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
A Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a 60/40 electrical bias, responsible for maintaining plant reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role involves both planned and reactive maintenance while ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all plant and machinery
Respond to and resolve mechanical and electrical breakdowns efficiently
Electrical fault finding on PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives, and control panels
Perform mechanical maintenance including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and gearboxes
Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment upgrades
Accurately log maintenance activities and parts used within the Asset Management system
Ensure all work complies with HSE, GMP, and GEP standards
Contribute to reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime
The Ideal Candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
Strong electrical fault-finding capability
Working knowledge of mechanical maintenance systems
Experience working within a shift-based role
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and strong team ethic
Desirable Skills:
Experience within plastics, recycling, or similar processing environments
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Root cause analysis and continuous improvement exposure
