Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased) to support the maintenance and reliability of automated production and packaging equipment within a fast-paced FMCG environment. This role is hands-on, electrically focused, and requires strong fault-finding capability alongside solid mechanical skills. You’ll work as part of a small shift-based engineering team to ensure equipment uptime and safe operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on production machinery
Work with control panels, inverters, sensors, and three-phase electrical systems
Perform mechanical maintenance including bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and valves
Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
Maintain automated conveyors, pickers, sorters, and packaging/sealing equipment
Accurately record maintenance activities using internal systems
Identify root causes of breakdowns and report findings to management
Assist with installation, movement, and repositioning of machinery
Liaise with external contractors and specialist engineers when required
Work safely and effectively under pressure within a small team environment
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Strong electrical bias with proven fault-finding and diagnostic experience
Mechanical maintenance experience on industrial production equipment
Background in an industrial or FMCG manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a strong work ethic
Ability to work well under pressure and collaborate within a small team
A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
Desirable Skills:
Completed engineering apprenticeship
Experience working with PLCs (basic level)
Experience with conveyors, automated picking, and packaging machinery
Forklift or MEWP experience (training can be provided)
