Our client is a global FMCG manufacturer operating a high-volume, 24/7 production site supplying major food, beverage and household brands. The site is well invested, engineering led and focused on reliability and safety.
Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
A hands-on, mechanically biased maintenance role within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. You’ll support 24/7 production by carrying out reactive and planned maintenance while contributing to reliability and continuous improvement across site.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
Carry out planned preventative maintenance via CMMS
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production machinery
Work on gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, pneumatics and hydraulics
Complete strip-downs, rebuilds, alignment work and mechanical improvements
Support machine changeovers and continuous improvement activities
Undertake basic electrical fault-finding on motors, sensors, drives and control panels
Perform safe isolations and basic electrical repairs
Complete maintenance documentation and liaise closely with production and engineering teams
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Proven maintenance experience within FMCG, food, beverage, packaging or plastics manufacturing
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering
Strong mechanical background with supporting electrical skills
Experience fault-finding in a fast-paced production environment
Confidence working a rotating 4 on / 4 off days and nights shift pattern
A proactive, team-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills
Desirable Skills:
Experience with extrusion, injection or stretch blow moulding machinery
Background working with automated production or packaging equipment
