Our client is a family-owned company and leading FMCG manufacturer based in the Suffolk area.
Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on mechanical maintenance across sites and associated plants, ensuring agricultural equipment, vehicles, and fixed plant operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. Work from the workshop and travel to sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on mixers, conveyors, hoppers, cranes, trucks, tractors, and farm machinery
Diagnose faults and complete repairs promptly to minimise downtime
Support basic electrical fault-finding (industrial and vehicle electrics)
Install and maintain water/drinker systems, feeder systems, and gas brooder heaters
Assist with small projects, upgrades, and improvements
Maintain workshop tools, vehicles, and equipment
Record work accurately and communicate with managers and colleagues
Participate in on-call rota every other weekend
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Level 3 Mechanical qualification (NVQ/BTEC or equivalent)
Strong mechanical maintenance experience, ideally industrial, heavy, or agricultural
Vehicle mechanics experience (City & Guilds 3905 or equivalent)
Comfortable working in dusty/heavy environments
Practical, hands-on, self-motivated, and safety-focused
Desirable Skills:
Plumbing skills for farm systems
Basic industrial/vehicle electrical knowledge
Multi-site maintenance experience
