Our client is a leading UK manufacturer of essential building products. Operating across 17 sites in the UK, they provide high-quality products that support both traditional and modern construction methods, ensuring the continued growth of the UK construction industry.
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join an established engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities across the site, working closely with internal engineering and production teams as well as external contractors. You will play a key role in ensuring maintenance work is planned safely, efficiently and effectively, with the right resources, materials and documentation in place before work begins.
Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
Produce detailed maintenance job plans, ensuring labour, materials, tools, permits and RAMS are in place.
Coordinate maintenance activities with engineering, production and external contractors.
Manage contractor relationships and support the implementation of service agreements.
Support the maintenance planning system and CMMS, ensuring accurate records and data are maintained.
Monitor maintenance performance, downtime, reliability and productivity data.
Ensure maintenance activities meet relevant Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
Support statutory compliance requirements and maintenance planning within agreed budgets.
Work collaboratively with the wider engineering team to ensure priorities and schedules are effectively managed.
Proven experience in maintenance planning, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintenance schedules.
Experience coordinating contractors and managing external labour resources.
Good knowledge of engineering principles, with an electrical bias desirable but not essential.
Experience with risk assessments, RAMS and maintenance compliance requirements.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with a CMMS or maintenance management system.
A proactive, practical approach and the ability to work effectively as part of an experienced engineering team.
Experience within heavy industrial, agricultural, manufacturing or FMCG environments would be advantageous.
Experience with CMMS systems. Experience with any system is considered.
Knowledge of statutory maintenance and compliance requirements, including LOLER and PUWER.
Electrical engineering experience or qualifications.
Experience working with contractors and service-level agreements.
Experience in a dusty, industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with maintenance performance measures such as downtime, reliability and OEE.
