Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
You will lead the maintenance function, ensuring all production equipment runs reliably and efficiently while meeting the highest standards for Production, Quality, Food Safety, and Budget.
Prioritise Health & Safety: Incident Coordination, Fire Marshal duties, LOTO, PTW, and Contractor Control.
Develop and maintain planned maintenance schedules (via SAP) for Canning/PET lines.
Reduce downtime, improve OEE, and enhance plant reliability within budget.
Create flexible maintenance plans to meet evolving production needs.
Identify training requirements and develop direct reports.
Manage spare parts inventory efficiently, minimising stock while ensuring availability.
Coordinate supplier services and OEM support through cost-effective contracts.
Ensure adherence to food safety, quality, and hygiene standards in production.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and manage RCA processes.
Drive reductions in energy and maintenance costs.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and OEMs.
Develop weekly and annual maintenance schedules in collaboration with OEMs.
Support internal and external audits (FSSC, BRC, AIB) and ensure staff are trained in Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven management/supervisory experience, preferably in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
Operational management experience in a high-speed production environment.
Strong knowledge of Lean / Continuous Improvement tools and techniques (OEE, reliability, cost improvements).
Strong understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation.
Knowledge of Food Safety legislation and standards.
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background (qualified or certified).
Degree-level education or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with Canning or PET production lines.
Experience managing maintenance budgets and spare parts inventory.
Previous exposure to OEM collaboration and supplier contract management.
Familiarity with audit preparation and compliance in food manufacturing.
