Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on, multi-skilled engineering role within a specialist manufacturing environment supporting environmental monitoring and sterilisation validation products used in pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Working in a cleanroom setting, you'll maintain and repair bespoke machinery while also overseeing general facilities maintenance.
Diagnose and repair faults in bespoke plant equipment (electrical & mechanical).
Perform electrical maintenance on panels, motors, inverters, lighting, and sockets.
Carry out mechanical tasks involving bearings, pumps, valves, and chains.
Handle general site and facilities maintenance (e.g. HVAC, light plumbing, basic repairs).
Work within a cleanroom environment, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
Liaise with customers on equipment repairs when needed.
Mentor and support junior engineers within a small, collaborative team.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong competence in both electrical and mechanical maintenance.
Excellent electrical fault-finding skills (with or without schematics).
Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Confidence to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems.
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or cleanroom environments.
Clear communication skills, particularly when working with mixed teams and clients.
Desirable Skills:
Prior experience in cleanroom or highly regulated environments.
Exposure to facilities maintenance tasks (HVAC, light plumbing, etc.).
Familiarity with bespoke machinery and specialist production systems.
A flexible, proactive approach to varied engineering responsibilities.
