Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
As an Engineering Team Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring plant reliability, efficiency, and safety across our operations. You’ll act as the key link between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Management — leading maintenance activities, resolving breakdowns, and driving continuous improvement.
Leading shift-based engineering activities to minimise downtime and maximise performance
Overseeing planned maintenance, shutdowns, refurbishments, and equipment installations
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and hygiene standards (POWRA focus)
Managing contractors, issuing permits, and conducting toolbox talks and job audits
Working with suppliers to maintain equipment reliability
Using EAM to track maintenance tasks, handovers, and daily shift reports
Collaborating with Manufacturing teams to improve line efficiency, quality, and safety
Supporting Senior Engineering Management to meet production targets and plan shift coverage
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience in engineering leadership within manufacturing or FMCG environments
Strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance
Skilled in planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown response
Understanding of factory layout, system design, and process optimisation
Excellent communication and team coordination skills
Ability to work effectively across shifts in a fast-paced, high-performance operation
Desirable Skills:
HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience with engineering management systems (EAM/CMMS)
Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance and permit-to-work systems
Supplier management and contractor supervision experience
Background in food, bakery, or process manufacturing
