Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining high-speed production and packaging lines, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient site operations. Key duties include planned and reactive maintenance of automated bakery equipment, minimising downtime during breakdowns, supporting preventative maintenance programmes, and collaborating with production and hygiene teams to maintain performance and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have:
Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-skilled Engineering
Experience in a food, FMCG, or manufacturing environment
Skilled in both electrical and mechanical fault-finding
Familiarity with PPM routines and CMMS systems
Strong understanding of safety, hygiene, and quality standards in production
Desirable Skills:
Hands-on experience with a range of bakery machinery (mixers, ovens, freezers, flow wrappers, etc.)
Confident working with basic PLC systems (Siemens/Allen Bradley)
Electrical skills including 3-phase motor work, fault-finding, and regulatory compliance (18th Edition)
Mechanical skills such as replacing bearings, belts, and pneumatic components
Comfortable supporting installations, diagnostics, and changeovers
