Automation Engineer – 
Salary: £70,000 + Benefits

Our client is a global leader within the FMCG and manufacturing sectors, with a strong worldwide presence in both retail and food service industries. They are seeking an Automation Engineer to join their flagship UK site.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support across automation and production IT systems

• Troubleshoot HMI, SCADA software, and Siemens PLC systems (S7)

• Monitor and maintain site servers, drives, and networked control systems

• Carry out both reactive and planned preventive maintenance

• Lead and support continuous improvement and optimisation projects

• Deliver automation initiatives that drive measurable performance improvements

Candidate Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND / Degree in an engineering discipline

• Experience in an automated process environment (Food, Brewing, Pharma, Chemical)

• Hands-on experience with production IT systems and automation equipment

• Strong troubleshooting skills with PLCs (Siemens S7), SCADA, and HMI systems

• Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

• Knowledge of Aveva Wonderware, OEE, and RMS systems

• Experience within multicultural/global organisations

• Exposure to optimisation project leadership and CI methodologies

Package

• £70,000 base salary

• 24 days holiday plus option to buy up to 5 additional days
