Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to lead a shift engineering team within a busy manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high engineering standards, improving reliability and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coordinate and support shift engineers.

• Manage planned and reactive maintenance activities.

• Prioritise breakdowns and engineering workloads.

• Drive engineering standards, equipment reliability and uptime.

• Monitor downtime and recurring faults, identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Support continuous improvement, shutdown and engineering projects.

• Work closely with production teams to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency.

• Support and develop engineers and apprentices.

• Coordinate and monitor contractor activities.

• Promote a strong Health & Safety culture.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within an engineering environment.

• A multi-skilled engineering background with a strong electrical bias.

• Experience within FMCG, food or another manufacturing environment.

• Strong fault-finding experience on production machinery.

• Good knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance.

• Experience working with CMMS systems.

• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

• A proactive approach to maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement.

• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience leading an engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Experience supporting apprentices or developing engineering personnel.

• Knowledge of automation and modern manufacturing equipment.

• Experience managing contractors and supporting site projects or shutdowns.
