Our client is a leading manufacturer renowned for excellence at their fully automated site, delivering consistent and high-quality food for over 40 years.
We are looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy FMCG manufacturing environment, working as part of a forward-thinking engineering team during an exciting period of investment and change. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of automated production equipment, with a strong focus on both electrical and mechanical maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, continuous improvement and developing their technical skills.
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of production and site equipment.
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
Maintain automated, network-linked processing and packaging machinery.
Work with PLCs, inverters, control panels, electrical supplies and CMMS systems.
Maintain and troubleshoot conveyors, motors, drives, mixers, extruders, ovens and associated equipment.
Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, steam systems, pipework and valves.
Support continuous improvement and engineering projects across the site.
Work closely with production teams to optimise machinery performance.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and uphold health & safety standards.
Strong multi-skilled maintenance experience, with electrical maintenance experience essential.
Relevant electrical and mechanical engineering qualifications.
Previous maintenance experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
Experience working with automated production environments.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
The ability to work effectively as part of a shift-based engineering team.
A positive attitude towards change, new technology and ongoing development.
A genuine passion for engineering and improving equipment performance.
Experience with PLCs, inverters and control panels.
Experience with packaging and process equipment.
Experience with conveying systems, motors and drive systems.
Experience with gas-fired ovens, grinders, sieves, extruders and mixers.
Knowledge of steam boilers, pipework and valves.
Hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
Experience using CMMS systems.
Additional electrical testing or PLC qualifications.
