Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for an Electrically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment. Working on a 4 on, 4 off day shift, you will be responsible for maintaining automated production and packaging equipment, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery.
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
Perform fault finding and root cause analysis to reduce downtime.
Complete maintenance records using a CMMS system.
Support equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
Work closely with production teams to maintain operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, GMP, and food safety standards.
Provide clear shift handovers and maintain effective communication within the engineering team.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
A time-served engineering background with strong maintenance experience.
Excellent electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience working with control panels, three-phase systems, sensors, inverters/VFDs, and electrical drawings.
Good mechanical maintenance knowledge, including conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and valves.
Experience maintaining automated production and packaging machinery within a manufacturing environment.
A proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills:
Food or FMCG manufacturing experience.
PLC fault-finding experience.
Engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.
Multi-skilled engineering qualification.
Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.
