Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are recruiting for a Mechanically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy semi-automated manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on mechanical maintenance, with basic electrical fault-finding and general site maintenance responsibilities. You'll play a key role in ensuring production equipment and site facilities are maintained to a high standard through both planned and reactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on production machinery.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
Perform basic electrical checks and interpret simple electrical diagrams.
Maintain and repair motors, pulleys, sprockets, bearings, shafts and conveyor systems.
Support preventative maintenance programmes across the site.
Assist with general site maintenance, including buildings, workshop areas and site facilities.
Keep maintenance records accurate and maintain a safe, organised working environment.
Work closely with production teams and escalate complex technical issues where required.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
A strong mechanical maintenance background within a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience working on semi-automated machinery.
A recognised engineering qualification.
Basic electrical knowledge, including reading simple electrical diagrams and understanding single and three-phase systems.
Practical fault-finding skills and experience with general mechanical repairs.
A proactive attitude, strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently when required.
Desirable Skills:
Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or similar production environments.
Knowledge of conveyors, production machinery and mechanically driven equipment.
Experience carrying out general site maintenance alongside machinery maintenance.
Strong record keeping and maintenance documentation skills.
