Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

We are recruiting for a Mechanically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy semi-automated manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on mechanical maintenance, with basic electrical fault-finding and general site maintenance responsibilities. You'll play a key role in ensuring production equipment and site facilities are maintained to a high standard through both planned and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on production machinery.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.

• Perform basic electrical checks and interpret simple electrical diagrams.

• Maintain and repair motors, pulleys, sprockets, bearings, shafts and conveyor systems.

• Support preventative maintenance programmes across the site.

• Assist with general site maintenance, including buildings, workshop areas and site facilities.

• Keep maintenance records accurate and maintain a safe, organised working environment.

• Work closely with production teams and escalate complex technical issues where required.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• A strong mechanical maintenance background within a manufacturing or production environment.

• Experience working on semi-automated machinery.

• A recognised engineering qualification.

• Basic electrical knowledge, including reading simple electrical diagrams and understanding single and three-phase systems.

• Practical fault-finding skills and experience with general mechanical repairs.

• A proactive attitude, strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently when required.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or similar production environments.

• Knowledge of conveyors, production machinery and mechanically driven equipment.

• Experience carrying out general site maintenance alongside machinery maintenance.

• Strong record keeping and maintenance documentation skills.
