Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to provide engineering support within a fast-paced, automated manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for maintaining plant and production equipment, responding to breakdowns, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, and driving continuous improvement to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across production equipment.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
Fault find on PLC-controlled equipment, motors, drives, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors and other production machinery.
Complete maintenance records accurately using a CMMS.
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all work is completed safely, following site procedures and engineering standards.
Work independently and collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Completed an engineering apprenticeship (electrical bias preferred).
At least 2 years' experience within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
Strong multi-skilled fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience working with automated production equipment and interpreting engineering drawings.
Good IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, safety-focused approach.
Desirable Skills:
Basic PLC fault-finding experience.
Experience with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Exposure to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise workload effectively.
