Our client is a leading manufacturer renowned for excellence at their fully automated site, delivering consistent and high-quality food for over 40 years.
We are recruiting for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment operating within a continuous production setting. This role is responsible for leading the shift engineering team while carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across automated production equipment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving machinery reliability, supporting continuous improvement projects, and driving a proactive engineering culture across the site.
Lead and coordinate the shift engineering team to maximise plant uptime and performance
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on automated production machinery
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently
Allocate engineering tasks and prioritise maintenance activities during shift
Support continuous improvement initiatives and site projects
Mentor and develop engineers and apprentices within the team
Ensure Health & Safety procedures and engineering standards are followed at all times
Complete engineering documentation and update CMMS systems accurately
Work closely with production teams to improve reliability and reduce downtime
Support shutdown planning, contractor management, and capital investment projects
Promote a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture
Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Senior Engineer role
Multi-skilled maintenance experience within FMCG or manufacturing environments
Strong electrical fault-finding skills on production machinery
Experience working with motors, drives, sensors, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Experience supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities
Strong communication and leadership skills
A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Good Health & Safety awareness and ownership mentality
Ability to work continental shifts including days and nights
PLC fault-finding experience
Electrical qualifications and inspection/testing knowledge
Experience with automated process machinery, packaging lines, mixers, extruders, or conveying systems
CMMS experience
Industrial wiring knowledge
Experience within food, packaging, automated manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or high-speed production environments
