Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a fast-paced, highly automated manufacturing environment. This hands-on contract role focuses on delivering both proactive and reactive maintenance to ensure maximum uptime, operational efficiency, and product quality in a 24/7 setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across site equipment
Diagnose faults and implement effective, long-term solutions
Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise disruption
Support asset reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
Record maintenance activities accurately using a CMMS (e.g. SAP PM)
Collaborate with production and site teams to meet performance targets
Conduct electrical fault finding on motors, drives, sensors, and control systems
Perform mechanical repairs on conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards
The Ideal Candidate will have:
A completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (HNC or similar)
Proven experience in a high-volume manufacturing or FMCG environment
Strong multi-skilled capability across electrical and mechanical disciplines
Solid fault-finding and problem-solving skills under pressure
Experience using a CMMS system (SAP PM preferred)
Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Flexibility to work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
Desirable Skills:
Experience working with automated production and packaging equipment
Knowledge of continuous improvement and reliability-centred maintenance
Familiarity with compliance standards such as PUWER and IOSH
