Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a fast-paced, highly automated manufacturing environment. This hands-on contract role focuses on delivering both proactive and reactive maintenance to ensure maximum uptime, operational efficiency, and product quality in a 24/7 setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across site equipment

• Diagnose faults and implement effective, long-term solutions

• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise disruption

• Support asset reliability and continuous improvement initiatives

• Record maintenance activities accurately using a CMMS (e.g. SAP PM)

• Collaborate with production and site teams to meet performance targets

• Conduct electrical fault finding on motors, drives, sensors, and control systems

• Perform mechanical repairs on conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics

• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• A completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (HNC or similar)

• Proven experience in a high-volume manufacturing or FMCG environment

• Strong multi-skilled capability across electrical and mechanical disciplines

• Solid fault-finding and problem-solving skills under pressure

• Experience using a CMMS system (SAP PM preferred)

• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

• Flexibility to work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working with automated production and packaging equipment

• Knowledge of continuous improvement and reliability-centred maintenance

• Familiarity with compliance standards such as PUWER and IOSH
