Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

The General Maintenance Builder is a hands-on, multi-skilled role responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving site infrastructure within a fast-paced agricultural and production environment. The position supports both reactive maintenance and planned projects to ensure facilities remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across buildings and site infrastructure

• Complete general building work including brickwork, blockwork, and structural repairs

• Maintain internal and external areas such as flooring, walls, drainage, roads, and yards

• Perform carpentry and joinery tasks including installation and repair of fixtures and fittings

• Undertake basic plumbing, painting, decorating, plastering, and finishing work

• Support civil works including trenching, concreting, and drainage projects

• Inspect, maintain, and repair roofing systems and external structures

• Operate plant machinery safely (e.g. excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, lifts)

• Assist with site upgrades, refurbishments, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Follow all health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work environment

• Work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and initiative

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Proven experience in a multi-skilled building or maintenance role

• Strong background in general building, carpentry, and site maintenance

• Working knowledge of plumbing, civils, and roofing

• Experience operating plant machinery or willingness to be trained

• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

• Good problem-solving and communication skills

• Full UK driving licence

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working across large or outdoor sites

• Background in facilities maintenance, construction, or industrial environments

• Relevant plant machinery certifications

• Proactive approach with the ability to identify and implement improvements
