Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
An exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a fast-paced 24/7 production environment. This role focuses on maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and performance of production machinery and site equipment. The successful candidate will carry out both reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to machinery breakdowns and carry out effective electrical and mechanical fault finding.
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with the maintenance schedule.
Maintain, repair, and rebuild production machinery and mechanical components.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on plant equipment including motors, sensors and control systems.
Support basic PLC fault finding and assist with electrical installations during upgrades or projects.
Maintain and replace mechanical components such as bearings, belts, chains and gearboxes.
Work with pneumatic systems including valves, cylinders and air lines.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and engineering work carried out.
Assist with general site maintenance across production, storage, office and external areas.
Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety and environmental standards.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience within a manufacturing or high-volume production environment.
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
Working knowledge of pneumatic systems.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
Flexible attitude and willingness to work within a rotating shift pattern and call-out rota.
Desirable Skills:
PLC fault-finding knowledge.
Basic welding or fabrication experience.
