Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer responsible for delivering planned, predictive and reactive maintenance across a food manufacturing site. The role supports plant reliability, safety, quality compliance and continuous improvement to ensure maximum utilisation of production assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out PPM, PdM and reactive maintenance in line with safety, quality and legal standards
Respond efficiently to unplanned plant stoppages
Conduct routine inspections, monitoring checks and self-audits
Safely diagnose, analyse and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using RCA where appropriate
Record all work, labour and materials using the CMMS system
Support continuous improvement initiatives across plant and processes
Monitor and assist external contractors to ensure site compliance
Maintain high housekeeping standards and effective spare parts control
Participate in the maintenance call-out rota
Actively contribute to a Safety-First culture and best practice sharing
The Ideal Candidate will have:
A recognised engineering apprenticeship with formal qualifications
Experience as a Maintenance Engineer within FMCG, food or drink manufacturing
Strong health & safety awareness
A proactive, reliable and self-motivated work ethic
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Computer literacy and confidence using maintenance systems
Desirable Skills:
Food safety awareness
Experience with 3-phase motors, control systems and PLC interaction
Mechanical experience including bearings, belts, chains and couplings
Knowledge of pneumatic systems, compressed air and steam-raising plant
