Our client is a rapidly growing engineering business that provides servicing, maintenance and installation of automated weighing, packaging and food processing machinery across the UK.
Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality servicing, maintenance, and technical support on FMCG machinery across customer sites in the UK. Ensure equipment reliability, minimise downtime, support production uptime, and represent the company professionally. The role includes fault diagnosis, repairs, machinery installation, and acting as a trusted technical partner to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for customer engineering issues and provide clear, professional support
Conduct on-site inspections and research to understand service needs
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control faults on FMCG weighing, packaging, and food processing machinery
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, installations, and machinery safety checks
Service equipment to maximise uptime and minimise breakdowns
Order, manage, and track parts as required
Produce accurate service reports, documentation, and recommendations for future improvements
Travel regularly across the UK and occasionally to Europe for training
The ideal candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline
Experience with automated systems, packaging machinery, weighing equipment, or food processing machinery
Strong understanding of engineering safety standards and compliance
Excellent problem-solving skills under pressure
Strong communication skills and ability to build customer rapport
High attention to detail and methodical working approach
Desirable Skills:
Previous experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments
Multi-skilled across both electrical and mechanical disciplines
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams
