Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Lead, support, and develop a shift-based engineering team within a high-volume, highly automated FMCG manufacturing environment. Remaining hands-on, you will drive plant reliability, safety, and performance while embedding strong engineering standards and continuous improvement across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support a team of 3 shift-based Multi-Skilled Engineers
Deliver planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities
Take ownership of complex breakdowns and fault-finding
Drive downtime reduction and plant reliability improvements
Ensure effective shift handovers and lead short interval control meetings
Coach engineers to support autonomous maintenance
Ensure maintenance KPIs and engineering standards are achieved
Use SAP PM to manage work orders, labour, and parts
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Completed apprenticeship or structured engineering qualification (HNC, degree, or equivalent)
Strong electrical and mechanical engineering background
FMCG or high-volume manufacturing experience
Previous leadership, senior engineer, or team leader experience
Confident decision-making and strong problem-solving ability
Effective communication, coaching, and mentoring skills
Desirable Skills:
Experience with SAP PM or similar CMMS systems
Strong understanding of automated production and packaging equipment
Knowledge of PUWER, IOSH, and FMCG compliance frameworks
