Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

Lead, support, and develop a shift-based engineering team within a high-volume, highly automated FMCG manufacturing environment. Remaining hands-on, you will drive plant reliability, safety, and performance while embedding strong engineering standards and continuous improvement across all shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of 3 shift-based Multi-Skilled Engineers

• Deliver planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities

• Take ownership of complex breakdowns and fault-finding

• Drive downtime reduction and plant reliability improvements

• Ensure effective shift handovers and lead short interval control meetings

• Coach engineers to support autonomous maintenance

• Ensure maintenance KPIs and engineering standards are achieved

• Use SAP PM to manage work orders, labour, and parts

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Completed apprenticeship or structured engineering qualification (HNC, degree, or equivalent)

• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering background

• FMCG or high-volume manufacturing experience

• Previous leadership, senior engineer, or team leader experience

• Confident decision-making and strong problem-solving ability

• Effective communication, coaching, and mentoring skills

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with SAP PM or similar CMMS systems

• Strong understanding of automated production and packaging equipment

• Knowledge of PUWER, IOSH, and FMCG compliance frameworks
