Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking a Buying Assistant to support the procurement and supply of raw materials, packaging, and ancillary items across the business. This role ensures timely availability of materials to meet production and customer demands, while maintaining cost-efficiency, compliance, and stock accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule, manage, and maintain raw materials, packaging, and ancillary items (chemicals, PPE, stationery).
Prepare and process purchase orders, maintain procurement systems, and update supplier records.
Participate in stock audits and monitor inventory levels, ensuring FIFO compliance.
Liaise with NPD, production, and technical teams to assess material suitability and quality.
Ensure vendor compliance, cost-effectiveness, and timely deliveries.
Approve and maintain artwork for packaging as needed.
Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.
The ideal candidate will have:
Degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
FMCG industry experience advantageous.
Strong analytical, organisational, and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Dynamics.
Desirable Skills:
Experience managing teams in a process environment.
Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
Fluency in English with strong numerical and analytical capability.
Tenacious and proactive approach to problem-solving.
