Job Role & Responsibilities:
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and improving industrial equipment to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers, you’ll perform repairs, identify improvement opportunities, and support continuous development across the site.
Key duties include:
Carry out repairs and maintenance on industrial machinery safely and efficiently.
Support continuous improvement projects, finding innovative solutions to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Work with contractors to ensure safe and compliant practices on site.
Maintain strong communication with Production and the Engineering team, ensuring smooth handovers and minimal disruption.
Record maintenance and PPM activities accurately in the CMMS system.
Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety standards and company procedures.
Contribute to improving reliability, cost efficiency, and equipment longevity.
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Engineering, or equivalent (HND/C&G/BTEC).
Multi-skilled background with strong electrical and mechanical ability.
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems, with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with confidence to work independently.
IT literate, including experience with MS Office and CMMS systems.
Willingness to travel for training or site support when required.
Desirable Skills:
Previous experience in industrial or similar environments.
Knowledge of steam systems, water treatment, or heat recovery systems.
Experience with electronic fault finding, fabrication, and welding.
Qualifications such as BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regs), C&G 2391-52 (Testing & Inspection), or IOSH Managing Safely.
Familiarity with PTW systems, Legionella control (ACOP L8), or Six Sigma / CapEx projects.
