Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
To ensure the mechanical reliability and performance of all plant equipment by delivering planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement across the site. The role plays a key part in maintaining uptime, safety, and product quality in a high-speed production environment.
Perform routine servicing and mechanical maintenance on production and site machinery.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to reduce downtime.
Maintain and repair mechanical systems including gearboxes, motors, pumps, conveyors, pneumatics, and bearings.
Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently to meet production targets.
Support equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
Accurately complete maintenance logs and shift handovers using CMMS.
Comply with health, safety, hygiene, and engineering standards.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet site objectives.
The ideal candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
A time-served apprenticeship or mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Solid mechanical fault-finding skills and hands-on maintenance experience.
Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance documentation.
A basic understanding of electrical isolation and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Desirable Skills:
Exposure to Siemens PLC systems.
Experience working in bakery or high-speed food production environments.
Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
