Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Support day-to-day engineering operations, focusing on breakdown response and planned maintenance. Deliver hands-on electrical fault finding, machine maintenance, and ensure continuous plant performance in a dusty, industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, kilns, mixers, ovens, and industrial machinery
Perform PPM and reactive maintenance (approx. 75% reactive)
Read and interpret electrical diagrams, work within panels, wire sensors and motors
Support mechanical changeovers and minor mechanical tasks
Input into plant upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects
Maintain logbooks and contribute to site compliance with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
The ideal candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 / C&G in Electrical Engineering (or NARIC-approved equivalent for overseas applicants)
3+ years hands-on experience in an industrial setting
Strong knowledge of motor theory, wiring, and electrical schematics
Confident working with AC/DC drives, sensors, and PLC-controlled systems
Ex-forces or international experience considered with correct qualifications
Desirable Skills:
Recognised apprenticeship in electrical maintenance
Familiarity with Siemens S5/S7 PLCs
Experience in electronics, instrumentation, or heavy industry environments
IOSH / NEBOSH (advantageous)
Mechanically capable of basic fault finding and changeovers
